Coatings that protect reactor metal from molten salt

Next-generation molten salt reactors run hot, and the salts inside them attack structural metals. We are developing a sprayable coating designed to act as a barrier between the salt and the metal, with the goal of extending component life.

The program is in active development. Laboratory validation is the next milestone.

Ceramic materials for reentry and hypersonic flight

Vehicles returning from orbit or flying at hypersonic speeds meet temperatures that destroy most materials. We are developing ceramic-based thermal protection intended to keep structures intact at those extremes.

This program is at the research stage, and we are looking for partners to test it.
